How To Reset Microsoft Outlook To Default Settings
Every once in a while Outlook’s data files used to store all your emails, contacts and calendar entries gets corrupted. If you have an Exchange server, Gmail, Yahoo Mail or Hotmail which backs up all your email then you can very easily restore Outlook to default settings. Here is how you can reset Outlook 2003, 2007 or 2010 to factory default settings.
In Windows7 go to Start > Control Panel and look for Mail. If you cannot find it type “mail” in the search box on the top right. Then click Mail.

This will bring up the Mail Setup dialog box with Show Profiles section that we are interested in.

In most cases you will just have one mail profile. If you delete this profile then all your Outlook settings will be reset to default. To delete click Remove and then press OK.

Thanks a lot!
Just a note: in my case the “Mail” icon was not available.
It does not seem to be as rare as one could think.
To solve that, just look for mlcfg32.cpl in the run box and let the OS open it.
Enjoy!

This information is not entirely correct.
I just did this and still cannot create a new contact because of “Could not load an object because it is not available on this machine”

I looked at another site to reset Microsoft Outlook and it was confusing. This is so much easier and faster to do. I made a mistake of putting in nonsense to my outlook that it did not work and it just kept popping out a message that said it cannot connect to the internet. This helped me reset. First time user too. Happy. Thanks so much.
