Wordpress.TV Gathers Wordpress Tutorials Under One Roof
Wordpress, the leader of blogging software, has now become even easier to use. With each release Wordpress has consistently added more features, enhancements and cool new ways for blogging and expressing ourselves. With the start of Wordpress.TV the guys behind Wordpress.org have accumulated the tutorials, how to documents, support forums, configuration and setup questions all in one convenient location. I learnt of this new WP portal on ma.tt website – a blog run by one of the founding members of the Wordpress community.
The website has a distinct look and feel and reminds me of Hulu. Introduction video (embedded below) to Wordpress.TV gives an overview of what it is all about. The site already boasts of quite a collection of Wordpress video tutorials of varying degree of difficulty. The blog on the other hand so far has only one post – I assume new developments will be announced there. Although I do not see the point of having a separate Wordpress.tv blog. After all, the official Wordpress blog would have been enough for product announcements for everything under the Wordpress umbrella. The blog describes the purpose of the new site as:
To make it easy for you to find up-to-date, WordPress-themed video content within a couple of clicks. Without having to wade through spammy promotional videos, out-of-date content, and missing chunks of presentations.
The WordCampTV section helps put faces on the Wordpress development team and all the people associated with the project. It hosts audio and video of Wordpress camp meetups, behind the scenes of events and highlights from various Wordpress gatherings. Check it out for a more personal look at the Wordpress project.
