Are There More Websites Than People?
Last night during my late night / early morning ice cream tasting I wondered how many websites there are on the internet. My mind flowed freely and it might have been also stimulated by the high sugar level. I started to compare websites and people. Let’s have a comparison shall we.
Websites are fairly easy to make – one person can make 2 or more sites of varying designs. But so are people – get a man, a woman and one or more bottles of wine and there is the potential of creating another person.
Websites come in all sizes, shapes, colors; some are pretty and stupid and some rich and ugly. But it is very difficult to find a smart, rich and pretty site all in one domain … Just like us humans.
Several entitles can collaborate and build a website. Think of how a wiki is made although most CMS’s allow for group input. Same thing goes for people. To ‘build’ (or rather, create) another person you need at least one man and one man but it can also be a group project – such as one woman and two men or two women and one man or any combination of men and women.
In conclusion it is quite clear that creating a website is as easy as creating a human. Following this logic and the rate at which human population is expanding and number or websites and active domains is increasing everyone can conclude websites would very soon outnumber people.
